Appeal for Information following Attempted Robbery, Penperlleni

Gwent Police is appealing for information following an attempted robbery at an address in Penperlleni, Abergavenny on Tuesday evening (October 19th, 2010).

Two elderly residents reported the incident after they were disturbed by three men who entered their home at approximately 7.30pm. The men made a search of the property for valuables but left empty handed. The occupants – a man and woman- were shaken but unhurt.

DCI Ian Roberts, is leading the investigation:

“We believe the address was targeted as it looks as though the offenders thought the owners had valuables in the property. The three men are described as being of large build, five feet ten inches to six feet tall, believed to be between 20 and 30 years old with local accents and they masked their faces using balaclavas. We believe the men would have had a vehicle to travel to and from the area as it is rural. We would appeal to anyone who may have seen anyone acting suspiciously in the area or anyone with information to contact us on 01633 838111 or call Crimestoppers on 0800 555111,”
