Caerphilly’s Top Tourism Attraction Announced

Civic leaders in Caerphilly are cock-a-hoop after McDonald’s Restaurants in Crossway Retail Park was voted Caerphilly’s top tourist attraction.

In a poll conducted by the council’s CaerphillyVisits website sponsored by McDonald’s, the popular restaurants was rated higher by visitors to the town than the library of even the famous castle.

Ifor Jones visiting from Abertridwr told us:

“The castle’s a right rip off. For the price of admission I can treat my family to a happy meal at McDonald’s. We went to the castle a while back and me and my girls were real disappointed. There was no dragons or pirates or nothing. Not even a dinosaur”.

I spokesperson for Caerphilly tourist information centre who declined to be named informed us:

“We are delighted that McDonald’s has won the coveted award. They provide a much needed source of employment to the town and their training is second to none”.
