Caldicot Library is to host a free community event on Monday 4th August to commemorate the 100th anniversary of Britain’s entry into the First World War.
Readings will breathe life into feelings of the general public at the time, while local musicians The Banned will present songs that became popular during the conflict.
Resident historian Peter Strong will perform MC duties and those attending will be encouraged to enter into the communal atmosphere.
The Friends of Caldicot Library have been instrumental in organising this event, the first in a series the library will hold to mark the centenary of the First World War.
Tickets may be collected from Caldicot Library for the event which starts at 7.30pm.
