At 10.10am yesterday morning, Wednesday 19th August, Gwent Police were called to Beeches Road, Trevethin.
On arrival officers discovered an adult female deceased.
The death is being treated as suspicious. A 40 year old Pontypool man has been arrested on suspicion of murder. Crime Scene Investigators are currently at the scene and enquiries are ongoing into the circumstances surrounding the death of the female.
