Beddau Rugby Football Club is a rugby union team from the village of Beddau, South Wales. The club was formed in its present state in 1951-52, but can trace the roots of the club to the turn of the nineteenth centuary.
History Rugby has been played in Beddau as a village team since the turn of the last century, up until the 2nd World War. During this time all records related to this period were destroyed apart from a few remaining photographs of Beddau RFC teams that played during the late 1930's.
Beddau RFC reformed again in 1951-52. and have since been based in Castellau road, Beddau, and play fixtures at Mount Pleasant Park, Beddau. Photographs of past teams from this time until the present day can be seen around the club house.
Today Today, Beddau RFC plays in the Welsh Rugby Union, Division One East League. In the 2006-07 season, Beddau RFC won the Divison One East League, but were denied promotion to the Premier League as their grounds were deemed to not meet WRU criteria. This ruling was upheld in an EGM by 67% of members
