Marshfield (Welsh: Maerun) is an electoral district (ward) and smaller community (parish) in the urban-rural fringe of the city of Newport. It is considered to be an affluent and sought-after area.
The ward is bounded by the city boundary to the west, the Bristol Channel to the south, the mouth of the River Usk to the east, Graig ward to the north and the Pillgwenlly, Tredegar Park and Graig wards to the north east. The M4 motorway runs through the ward and it is home to the UK Patent Office and Office for National Statistics.
The ward contains the parishes of Coedkernew, Michaelston-y-Fedw and Wentloog, as well as the parish of Marshfield (population 2,636). The parish itself is bounded by the city boundary to the west, the A48(M) motorway to the north and South Wales Main Line to the south. The eastern boundary with Coedkernew is formed by the Nant y Selsig or "Sausage Brook".
Marshfield is also home to Marshfield FC, a team pushing for a place in the Gwent County League.
