Townhill is the name of a hill, an electoral ward, a community and a suburban district in the City and County of Swansea, South Wales.

The electoral ward consists of some or all of the following areas: Cwm-Gwyn, Mayhill, Mount Pleasant, Townhill in the parliamentary constituency of Swansea West. The ward is bounded by Cockett and Cwmbwrla to the north; Castle to the east; and the Uplands to the south.

Townhill district
The district of Townhill is spread over a steep hill of the same name bordering Mayhill and visible from the Swansea city centre. The area overlooks Swansea City Centre, the docklands and Swansea Bay.

Townhill suffers from poverty. Property prices here are significantly below the national average. Council tax prices here are very low. The north-eastern side of the hill and the hilltop consists mainly of council housing, whereas the southern face is a mix of council and owner-occupied houses. The area has gained much notoriety from joyriders terrorising the area, leading to the Council closing off a number of streets and roundabouts.

At the top of Townhill is a satellite campus of Swansea Institute, a primary school and a nursery schools.

Mayhill
The district of Mayhill is spread over the top of a steep hill of the same name about 1/2 mile (0.8 km) north west of the city centre, partly separated from Townhill to its west by a steep-sided valley. The south side of Mayhill enjoys spectacular views of the city, docklands and Swansea Bay. A famous landmark on Mayhill is the Mayhill Primary School now named the Seaview Primary School. This is a large semi-circular building clearly visible from the City Centre.

Mount Pleasant
Mount Pleasant is a district located just to the west of Brynmelin. It is sited at the foot of the hill that forms Mayhill. Despite its name it is not actually a mountain. The area is set on steep and sharply undulating terrain and consists of many narrow roads and lanes off the main road. Some of the southern parts of the district fall within the Castle ward

The main road through the district is also called Mount Pleasant, linking Swansea city centre with Mayhill and Townhill. The road runs in a north-south direction, rising steeply upwards from the city centre. The main campus of Swansea Institute of Higher Education is located here.
