Trefeglwys is a village in north Powys, mid Wales.
The name derives from Tref: meaning farm, Eglwys: meaning church. The village sits on the River Trannon. There are many amenaties in the village including public house, garage, church, chaple, primary school,village hall and play ground.The newly built maes trannon housing estate is a lovely quiet community of about 3 minutes walk from the main village.
Historical Context Historically, the parish of Trefeglwys includes the townships of Bodaioch, Maestrefgomer, Eskeirieth and Dolgwden, whilst a rural area the parish of Trefeglwys is about 8 miles long by 3 miles wide.
Notable People Trefeglwys is the birthplace of the Welsh Car Rallying Driver Phil Mills (b. 1963).
