Wiston Castle is a motte and bailey castle near the Pembrokeshire village of Wiston in south west Wales, probably begun by the Flemish settler, Wizo, sometime in the first half of the twelfth century. Remains of a later stone shell-keep also survive.
It seems to have been abandoned during the first half of the 13th century so is one of the best examples of its type in Wales. It is in the care of Cadw. |
