Is your name down?

An important annual canvas by the Council’s Electoral Registration team is coming to an end and residents are once again reminded they have a legal duty to complete and return their details.

The register of electors is conducted every year to ensure it contains up to date, accurate information about households across the County Borough.

If you are not on the Electoral Register, this can affect your ability to vote in local and national elections.

The Electoral Register is also used by authorised agencies to confirm residence and, if you are not on the register, you may be declined a mortgage, contract telephone or a loan.

All households should have received an annual canvass form either during September or a reminder form during October. If you haven’t returned your form please do so urgently so that you don’t risk being declined credit or be liable for a fine.

Residents are reminded they have a legal responsibility to complete and return their form and could be liable for a financial penalty if they fail to do so.

If you haven’t received a form or have lost your form please contact the team on 01443 490100 or by email at [email protected]
