An innovative local company who provide modern telecare services has been praised by Wrexham Assembly Member Lesley Griffiths during a visit to the business’ premises.

Located on the Wrexham Industrial Estate, Independence Telecare provide both a conventional telecare service to people who may need help in an emergency and a service for people who have health issues, such as high blood pressure or diabetes, but are otherwise active.

During her visit, Ms Griffiths congratulated the firm on their partnership with Kare Plus, a national care operator who will now deliver their response and clinical care support using the Wrexham-based company’s service and equipment.

As an ever-increasing and aging population adds significant pressures to NHS and social care services, Independence Telecare provides support and reassurance, enabling elderly or vulnerable individuals to live independently for longer.

Conventional technology support for the aged and vulnerable is traditionally home based and so cannot provide protection to clients when they are out and about. The Wrexham-based company uses mobile technology and GPS so if a client has a problem whilst out shopping or walking their dog, their position will be tracked and help can be sent to their location.

Wrexham AM Ms Griffiths said:

“It was great to visit Independence Telecare. The company’s inventive products and services help people maintain their independence as they grow older, as well as helping alleviate some of the pressures on our health and social care services.”

“Independence Telecare’s concept is really strong and their growth demonstrates Wrexham is a place where highly skilled businesses can develop and succeed. I wish them every success in the future.”

Independence Telecare’s Managing Director, Nigel Burns said:

“Our business has been very well supported by Wrexham Council’s Economic Development Department who have been crucial in helping our business grow.  We look forward to continuing to build our business in North Wales.”
