Merthyr Man finds Part-time Job

Dai Davies from Merthyr Tydfil is over the moon after finding his first job since leaving school 26 years ago. After a chance meeting with Iain Duncan Smith, the Secretary of State for Work and Pensions he was offered the chance to clean Mr Smith’s car on a monthly basis.

The Department for Work and Pensions (DWP) has provided Davies with training and after cleaning all their cars for the past couple of months, awarded him a NVQ in Vehicular Cleansing.

Davies, 42 told us:

“It’s a bit of a trek to get Chingford every month but I’m sure my bicycle is up to it. I bought it down the pub for a tenner so it has to be good”.

Davies continued:

“I completely agree with Mr Smith that old people do not wish to claim means-tested benefits, neither should stay-at-home mothers and we will be winners from a universal State pension – Heil Hitler”.
