Old Colwyn garden damaged

Police are appealing for information after a public garden in Old Colwyn was damaged by vandals.

Over the weekend, criminal damage was caused to the gate, the plaques on the wall and the slate sculpture in Wynn Gardens.

Sgt Alison Guillemin said: “The residents take pride in their environment, actively work in it to keep the gardens tidy, colourful and well kept. It’s a shame that a tiny minority are choosing to destroy the good work put in by these people who volunteer their services.”

She added: “Police and local residents are working closely together to combat this type of crime but we do need the help of the general public at large.”

Anyone who witnessed the damage being caused or knows who is responsible is urged to contact the Neighbourhood Policing Team at Colwyn Bay Police Station on 101, 0845 6071001 (Welsh line), 0845 6071002 (English line) or Crimestoppers Wales on 0800 555111.
