People across South East Wales are being encouraged to gather their friends, family and a few cuddly companions and hold a Teddy Bear’s Picnic in aid of the Noah’s Ark Charity this May. The charity is the only organisation that raises funds exclusively for the Noah’s Ark Children’s Hospital for Wales, which saw 95,215 admissions from the area covered by the Cardiff and Vale University Local Health Board last year.

Holding a Teddy Bear’s Picnic is a fun and easy way to support thousands of children who need specialist and often life-saving care. This week, Noah’s Ark Charity celebrity ambassador, Lucy Owen, joined patients at the Noah’s Ark Children’s Hospital for Wales at their own Teddy Bear’s Picnic. One of the guests was two-year-old Lilah from Pentwyn in Cardiff (pictured) who is currently a patient at Noah’s Ark. Lucy said: “It’s been lovely to spend time with Lilah and the other children here at the hospital today. Every time I come here I’m reminded of what a wonderful place it is and how the people of Wales have helped make it possible. With the public’s support, the charity has and will continue to provide vital medical equipment and facilities, helping the hospital provide world class care to the children of Wales.”

Noah’s Ark Charity director, Suzanne Mainwaring said: “Families are at the centre of everything at Noah’s Ark and holding a Teddy Bear’s Picnic is our family focussed version of a stop for tea or coffee morning event. We hope people will gather their nearest and dearest and have fun while raising funds for children across Wales.”
