Two Police Officers Arrested

South Wales PoliceSouth Wales Police has confirmed that six people including two serving police officers have been arrested following an investigation by the force’s Professional Standards Department.

A 47-year-old male officer was arrested on suspicion of conspiracy to commit misconduct in public office and fraudulent evasion of income tax.

A 48-year-old male officer was arrested on suspicion of conspiracy to pervert the course of justice;

Four others were also arrested as part of the investigation.

Those arrested were:

A 47-year-old woman from Barry arrested on suspicion of fraudulent evasion of income tax.

A 40-year-old man arrested on suspicion of conspiracy to commit misconduct in public office.

A 51-year-old man arrested on suspicion of conspiracy to commit misconduct in public office.

A 57-year-old man arrested on suspicion of conspiracy to pervert the course of justice.

All six, who were arrested on Monday, January 20, have been released on bail pending further enquiries.

The Independent Police Complaints Commission is supervising the investigation by South Wales Police.”
