Under 16’s finals places up for grabs

RugbyBall_1It’s all to play for in the WRU Age Grade Under 16 Championship tonight with two of the six competing sides desperate to take a step towards qualification for the final of this season’s competition.
Unfortunately, the game between the Dragons and Blues South, scheduled for Tredegar at 7.15pm, has been postponed due to a waterlogged pitch. However, whilst that game has been rescheduled for December 16 at a venue to be confirmed, the Blues North game against the Scarlets does go ahead. The game has been moved from Abercwmboi to Aberdare due to an unfit pitch.

A bonus point victory for the Scarlets would take them seven points clear of second placed Blues South and a further four points ahead of the Ospreys who line in third.

It would also hand the visitors a quick-fire double over the North whom they defeated 28-14 back in September.

Leading points scorer Jordan Williams helped himself to 18 points on that occasion and the Scarlets welcome him back after his match winning performance for the region’s under 18s last Wednesday.

If the North can avenge their disappointment in Llanelli, they will keep alive their feint hopes of making the final.

Scarlets: J Morgan; D Morgans, S Hughes, G Owens, J Randell; J Williams, C Lloyd; B Davies, T Ball, G Davies, C Marks, T Morrisey, S Bennett, D Thomas, J Williams. Replacements: C Evans, D Havard, T Treharne, D Doughty, S Evans, G George, G Howells

Fixtures (7.15pm)
Blues North v Scarlets (Aberdare)
