Welsh supporters invade Rome

Thousands of Welsh supporters have descended on Rome for this afternoon’s RBS 6 Nations clash between Italy and Wales.

The Eternal city has been turned red for the past couple of days as the Welsh public explore what the Italian capital has to offer and they haven’t been disappointed.

Charter flight after charter flight has departed Cardiff and scheduled journeys have been inundated with supporters flocking to Rome for one of the great rugby away fixtures.

As you stroll around the city you can witness supporters acknowledging each other and sharing tales as the excitement builds ahead of the fixture at the Stadio Flaminio.

Red shirts and daffodil badges are a prominent sight at the Trevi Fountain and the Colosseum and the locals are welcoming the Welsh invasion with open arms.

Named by locals as the best travelling rugby supporters, Wales will be hoping their side basque in the sunshine this afternoon.
