The Women’s National Cup Final between UWIC and Neath Athletic takes place this Sunday at Beddau RFC, kick off at 2.30pm.
UWIC come into the final via a 66 – 5 win against Whitland, 51 – 0 victory over Division 1 East winners Blaenau Gwent and a 36 – 5 win in the semi-finals against Division 1 West winners Dolgellau.
Neath Athletic also had comfortable wins in the first two rounds, defeating Seven Sisters 48 – 0 and Cardiff Quins 66 – 12. The semi-final was a much closer affair with Neath clinching a 20- 19 win against Pontyclun.
This is a replay of last year’s Cup Final but Neath will be hoping to go one better and overcome a formidable UWIC squad.
“After the World Cup squad announcement, there are players with points to prove and also players having the chance to show why they have been included. It should make for a great encounter and excellent final,” said Sophie Bennet, Women’s Performance Manager.
