21st Birthday party with a difference

Go Nuts for Dormice is a free family fun day taking place at Loggerheads Country Park this Sunday (September 20th), 12 – 4 pm.

The event celebrates 21 years of dormouse monitoring and conservation with a range of displays, fun activities, and games for all the family including a giant willow sculpture and face painting. Dormouse-themed food will be available to purchase from Café Florence on site.

Dormice are a shy woodland species and spend most of their time high up in trees. They are easy to identify from their golden coat, furry tail and large black eyes, but they are nocturnal so are very hard to spot!

Displays will give information on monitoring and conservation projects happening locally, and details of how you can take part.

For the more adventurous, prizes are up for grabs in a woodland wildlife themed children’s fancy dress competition (judging at 2pm), and a woodland walk and nut hunt at 3pm.
