Incident in Llangoed, Anglesey

A man will appear before Magistrates this morning (Tuesday 25th August) following an incident in Llangoed, Anglesey yesterday afternoon.

36-year-old Nicholas Ian Flood of Lime Walk, Wilmslow has been charged with attempted kidnap and possession of a bladed article following an incident whereby a 19-year-old girl was grabbed as she walked past the rugby field.

The girl managed to struggle free and call for help.

A search was carried out which involved the force helicopter and a police dog and the man was later found.

The 36-year-old has been remanded and will appear before Holyhead Magistrates this morning.

North Wales Police are appealing for anyone who may have witnessed suspicious behaviour along the B5109 which goes into Llangoed by the rugby field to contact CID officers on Anglesey on 101, if phoning from Wales, or 0845 607 1001 (Welsh line) 0845 607 1002 (English line) or Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
