Reward for Information on Serious Sexual Assault in Aberystwyth

Dyfedd Powys PolicePolice are continuing to investigate a report of a serious sexual assault which happened sometime between 2.30am and 4.30am on Saturday 17th October 2009 on the pathway leading to Pentre Jane Morgan student accommodation from Penglais Hill. The female victim was threatened before being assaulted.

Heddlu Dyfed Powys Police, Aberystwyth University and the Aberystwyth Guild of Students are jointly offering a reward of £5000 which will be available to anyone providing information leading to the arrest and conviction of any person or persons linked to the incident.

The suspects are described as two men, both speaking with English accents.  At the time of the offence, each man was wearing a hoodie top, one wore jeans and the other jogging bottoms. All clothing was dark in colour.

Students and staff are being advised to take basic safety measures when on a night out.  These include not walking home alone and using well lit areas.  Anyone requiring more personal safety advice can contact the local neighbourhood policing team via the non-emergency number 101.
