Garth, Bangor, Gwynedd.
Built in 1840 the Union Tavern once catered for passengers disembarking from the many steamers that stopped at the nearby Garth pier. It aimed at a select clientele offering, gigs and post horses for hire as well as choice wine and spirits. It has changed hands recently and no longer offers Proper Steak and Kidney pie. I never had the courage to ask for improper Steak and Kidney pie and now it is too late.
