Borth is a small Welsh village about 7 miles north of Aberystwyth in the county of Ceredigion.
It has a sandy beach and is a popular holiday resort: there is a youth hostel in the village and caravan and camping sites nearby. On the beach are centuries-old tree remains which can be seen when the tide is out. Storms and sand movement expose and hide different parts of these over time. Borth railway station is on the AberystwythShrewsbury line, giving easy access from the Midlands. Inland is Cors Fochno (Borth Bog), of considerable ecological interest.
According to both the 1991 and 2001 censuses, 43% of the residents of Borth are Welsh-speakers.
