Gilfach Goch is a village in Rhondda Cynon Taff, Wales.

Gilfach Goch is a small, ex coal mining, village south of the Rhondda Valleys in the Ogmore (Ogwr Fach) Valley, South Wales.

It is reputed to have once been home to the author Richard Llewellyn who based his novel, How Green Was My Valley in a fictional town that was very much based on Gilfach Goch. The author would spend long summer holidays with his grandfather in the village. .

The oldest building in the village is the Griffin Inn pub which is situated at the bottom of a lonely country lane. It is said to have been a brothel but its halycon days of sin are now long gone.
