Llantwit Fardre is a small town/village situated on the A473 near the Welsh town of Pontypridd. It is less than a few miles from Beddau. The village was also known for a time as Newtown Llantwit but the name derives from the Welsh Llanilltud Faerdref, meaning the steward's house of the church of St Illtyd. St. Illtyd's church is located in the neighbouring Church Village.

Llantwit Fardre RFC are a rugby union team who play in the WRU Division three South East League.
