Snowdon
To take this shot I needed to rise from my breakfast in the Pen Y Pass caf, walk less than two yards to a window and having gone to 10x zoom, click the shutter button. The discolouration in the right of shot was due to a smeared window.

Note the vertical rock strata. This strata which was once part of an ancient ocean floor, was originally horizontal but due to immense pressure over millions of years, it has been folded until vertical thus producing the mountains of the Snowdonia region. The estimated age of the rocks in this region is about 400 million years which makes them some of the oldest exposed rocks in the world.
