Gowerton is the name of an electoral ward, a community and a village in the City and County of Swansea, South Wales.

The electoral ward consists of some or all of the following areas: Gowerton, Penclawdd, Waunarlwydd, in the parliamentary constituency of Gower. It is bordered by Penclawdd and Fairwood to the south west; Killay North and Killay South to the south; Cockett to the east; and Lower Loughor, Upper Loughor, the Loughor estuary and Kingsbridge to the north.

The village of Gowerton is situated about 4 miles north west of Swansea City Centre. Gowerton is often known as the gateway to the Gower. It is home to four schools. These are Tregŵyr Infants School, Tregŵyr Junior School, Gowerton Comprehensive School and Ysgol Gyfun Gŵyr (Welsh medium comprehensive school)

Gowerton railway station is served by the Heart of Wales Line and the West Wales Line. Gowerton was once home to two railway stations, but only one remains. This was made single-track in the early 1990s.

Gowerton's original name was Ffosfelin.

Gowerton once had five churches, St John's Church (built 1882), Tabernacl, Temple United Reformed Church, Bethel and Bethania. However, only two, St John's Church and Temple URC still remain.

Gowerton is bordered by Penclawdd, Dunvant, Waunarlwydd, Three Crosses and Garden Village
