Catch that worm in the Cynon Valley as Leisure Centres open their doors to “early birds”.
As a direct result of the success of the “early birds” sessions at Aberdare Swimming pool and Michael Sobell Leisure Centre, Abercynon Sports Centre will now join the “early bird” craze and open its doors at 6.30am, Monday to Friday to allow residents to use both the Zenith suite and swimming pool before the head off to work.
This now means that all centres across the Cynon Valley are open from 6.30am, Monday to Friday. The “early birds” sessions were first introduced due to visitors expressing an interest in accessing the centres before they start their work day. The sessions have been a tremendous success with a high number of users regularly attending the centres.
So why not join in the craze and get your training and swimming done at the start of your day – the right way!
Cllr Robert Bevan, Cabinet Member for Culture, Recreation and Tourism, said: “We are very pleased to announce the new extended opening hours for Abercynon Sports Centre for the benefit of those “early birds” who want to catch the worm before they start their work day!
“The early bird sessions include the swimming pool and gym, as well as the steam room and sauna, offering a range of relaxing, refreshing options for people.
“However, as well as the earlier opening times at Aberdare Swimming Pool, Michael Sobell Leisure Centre and Abercynon Sports Centre, there is also an extensive range of programmes on offer at various times throughout the day and evening, including the weekends, for those who wish to take advantage of them.”
There is lots on offer via the Leisure Services and with the ‘more’ Leisure card continuing to be an affordable and flexible option, why not give it a try!
