A Vale of Clwyd community has been chosen as a pilot village for the Community Miles Project, to encourage people to walk in the area.
The Community Miles Project in Llandyrnog near Denbigh is funded by Welsh Assembly Government through Denbighshire County Council’s Rights of Way Improvement Plan to create a circular walk around the village using the existing Rights of Way.
The scheme will involve new and improved furniture such as kissing gates, stiles and wooden sign posts and a Llwybr Tyrnog logo disk.
To compliment the route a leaflet will be created with the community to show a map of the route with local business information such as shop, accommodation, butchers, pubs and also some local historic information such as features along the route.
The project is aimed at improving the health and well bring of local people and visitors to the area, to encourage people to walk more. The project has been made possible through close working with Llandyrnog Community Council, the Local Historic Group, Ysgol Bryn Clwyd and local landowners.
The name of the route has been thought of by the locals as it is a route for them all to enjoy.
