Over 200 Cardiff primary pupils from 14 schools who have been learning how to play string musical instruments with Cardiff County & Vale of Glamorgan (CCVG) Music Service are coming together to form a gigantic String Orchestra on Monday, May 23 at City Hall Cardiff.
The pupils have been learning their ensemble pieces since January as part of their string peripatetic lessons in school and are now raring to perform together in a Strictly Strings! Concert.
They will be joined by CCVG Youth String Orchestra and who will show the youngsters what they can aspire to with plenty of practice.
Guest violin soloist is Charlie Lovell-Jones, who, at the age of 11 has already passed Grade 8 and is a member of the County Youth Orchestra.
Executive Member for Education and Lifelong Learning, Cllr Freda Salway said: ”It is fantastic to see young children enjoy music and learn the skills needed to play an instrument.
“Music plays an important part in the development of children and young people, allowing them to express themselves.
“These children have demonstrated dedication and talent and I wish them all the best for their concert.”
