17th Century Manor hosts 21st Century Regeneration Conference

Next week, colleagues from public, private and voluntary sector organisations across Caerphilly county borough will join together at a special conference.

The ‘Standing Conference’, being held at Llancaiach Fawr on Wednesday 25th May, will focus primarily on Regeneration in the county borough. The conference provides an opportunity for the key decision makers from various organisations across Caerphilly county borough to come together to look at ways of improving the quality of life for residents and businesses.

Cllr Ron Davies, Cabinet Member for Regeneration said, “The Standing Conference is an opportunity to collaborate with colleagues across the public, private and voluntary sector, and emphasise our commitment to the regeneration agenda across Caerphilly county borough“.

“We are committed to promoting and regenerating our town centres, and we are currently leading the way on major regeneration works in towns including Risca, Newbridge and Bargoed, with state-of-the art library transformation plans also in place for Abercarn, Bargoed, Caerphilly and Risca“.

“This, coupled with the news that in this year’s budget, the council put aside almost half a million pounds to invest in providing training and development opportunities for young people, means that we certainly have a lot to shout about”, he added.

The Standing Conference is being held at the magnificent Llancaiach Fawr Manor, which every year draws thousands of visitors from right across the world through its doors.

Cllr Davies concluded, “I look forward to welcoming colleagues to the conference to look at how we can work together for the good of all, and move forward for the benefit of our residents and businesses”.
