Tickets for the Vale of Glamorgan National Eisteddfod have gone on sale on the Eisteddfod website and via the ticketline – 0845 4090 800. For the first time, people can choose their seat through the online system.
Eisteddfod Organiser, Hywel Wyn Edwards, says, “Eisteddfod tickets go on sale on 1 March every year, and this year is no different, and it’s already busy on the phones and online, as people order their tickets early.
“The concerts line-up this year have proved popular immediately, and the Comedy Gala – a new and exciting idea – have appealed in particular. The Dafydd Iwan concert, celebrating 50 years in showbusiness is also proving popular at this early stage, and tickets are already selling for these two evenings and for the rest of the evenings at the Vale of Glamorgan Eisteddfod this year.
“More and more Eisteddfodwyr have turned to the website over the past few years to buy tickets, and this year, we’re offering a new online service. You can choose your own seat in the Pavilion for the first time this year. In the past, the computer has always chosen the best available seat for you when you bought online, but from today onwards, you can choose where to sit yourself.
“I’m sure people will appreciate the opportunity to do this, and it’s also important to add that the telephone ticket line service is also available for anyone wishing to speak to someone when buying tickets, or if you don’t have internet access.
“This is also the first chance to buy Maes tickets, and these are available at a reduced rate until 1 July. The three days for the price of two offer is also available, as is the season ticket for this year’s festival, so there’s plenty of bargains available for Eisteddfodwyr of all ages.”
The Vale of Glamorgan National Eisteddfod is held from 4-11 August on the old airfield at Llandow near Llantwit Major and Cowbridge. For more information and to buy tickets go to www.eisteddfod.org.uk.
