Lifeboat launches in search for missing teen

Flint Lifeboat was requested by Liverpool Coastguard to assist with the search for a 14 year old missing girl believed to be from the Holywell area.

The volunteer lifeboat crew launched the lifeboat at Flint and carried out an initial search from Flint to Greenfield, a further request was made to continue the search to Mostyn, then up river to Connahs Quay, when this was complete the lifeboat was stood down and recovered at Greenfield at 14.30, and was back and ready for further service at 14.45.

Whilst the lifeboat was at sea, the RNLI shore crew assisted with a search from the shore. Two crew members searched from Greenfield to Bagillt gutter, and two more from Greenfield to the Duke of Lancaster.

Mike Heel volunteer deputy launching authority for the RNLI at Flint, said: “We had an excellent turn-out of volunteer crew – we carried out a thorough search from both land and sea, working with closely with the coastguard.”
