A week after North Wales Police renewed their appeal for information into the murder of Ffion Wyn Roberts a £5,000 reward has been offered by a Porthmadog businessman.
The local businessman, who has asked to remain anonymous, is offering the reward through North Wales Police for information leading to the arrest, charge and subsequent conviction of whoever is responsible for Ffion’s death.
The Senior Investigating Officer, Detective Superintendent Peter Chalinor, said: “Since making our latest appeal for information about items found discarded following Ffion’s murder we have received a number of calls and we are following up these lines of enquiries. We have also been offered this financial reward from a local businessman which may encourage someone with further information to come forward.
“An investigative team of 44 people continue to work on the case and North Wales Police remain committed to bring the person or persons responsible for Ffion’s death to justice.
We have been extremely encouraged by the response from local people and the offer of a financial reward demonstrates how supportive the community of Porthmadog and Tremadog are.”
North Wales Police are still anxious to hear from anyone who has information about the items which were found. These include Ffion’s handbag, a pair of extra large, blue tracksuit bottoms and a training shoe which were found near a sluice gate in Porthmadog on the afternoon of Saturday, April 10.
