Glyn Davies, Conservative MP for Montgomeryshire, has urged EE to rectify network problems which have been affecting mobile users in the north of the region since Sunday.
Many EE customers have suffered with poor signal during the past week, including complete signal loss in several rural areas. 3G services have also been affected.
Speaking about EE’s coverage problems, Glyn Davies MP said:
“My office has been in constant contact with EE’s CEO office, who state that the issue has been caused by a single mast fault, which is in turn affecting a number of other sites in Powys and Shropshire. EE assure me that their engineers are currently working to fix the issue and I have asked them to provide me with a timetable for completion.
“It is however disappointing that it has so far taken five days for this fault to be repaired, and several of those who have contacted me complain they have received no information from the company about how long it could take to restore the network.
“Many customers, including businesses, have been severely affected by the problems since Sunday. I have been contacted by numerous constituents about this issue, several of whom are vulnerable pensioners living in remote locations, and are completely reliant on mobile signal if there is an emergency.”
“It is vital that these network issues are rectified by EE as quickly as possible.”
