Police in Neath are appealing for information following a burglary at Skewen Rugby Club in Tennant Park, Skewen.
The incident happened between 11.30pm on Sunday 26th January and 8.30am on Monday 27th January when the break-in was discovered by staff.
Two cash safes containing thousands of pounds as well as cases of alcohol were removed from the club onto the adjoining rugby pitch and taken away.
Officers have carried out house-to-house enquiries in the area and report hearing a vehicle at around 3.30am on Monday morning.
Crime scene investigators have also attended the club and an investigation is continuing.
Local policing inspector Huw Griffiths said:
“We are appealing to anyone who saw or heard anything suspicious near the rugby club between closing time on Sunday night and Monday morning to contact the police.
“The culprits have removed two cash safes and several cases of vodka and Grolsch lager and we are also appealing to anyone who has information about the stolen property to come forward.”
