Cardiff Story Win Connect10 Competition and gets the Chance to Work with Contemporary Artist Janette Parris

Cardiff Logo smallThe Cardiff Story Museum have beaten off stiff competition to win their category in the Museums at Night Connect10 competition and will now have the opportunity of working with contemporary artist Janette Parris.

The Connect10 competition is part of Culture 24’s Museums at Night festival which aims to inspire after hours cultural events at museums, galleries and heritage sites.

The Cardiff Story will now work with Janette Parris, puppets, ventriloquists, comedians, actors and most importantly Cardiff’s communities to create funny and engaging alternative tours of their galleries from Thursday 15th – Saturday 17th May when the annual night-time festival of arts, heritage and culture Museum at Night takes place.

Cabinet Member for Sport, Leisure and Culture, Cllr Ramesh Patel said:

“I am thrilled that The Cardiff Story has won this competition which presents a fantastic opportunity to work with such a wonderful artist, engaging with its diverse communities in a unique way.

“More than 60,000 people voted in the competition– over double the amount of votes for 2013’s competition, and I would like to express my thanks for those who supported this much-loved attraction in the heart of Cardiff.”

The Cardiff Story beat Weston Park Museum in Sheffield, People’s History Museum in Manchester and the New Art Gallery in Walsall.
