Burglary in Splott: £100,000 Worth of Cash and Jewellery Stolen

South Wales PoliceDetectives are investigating a burglary in Splott, Cardiff, where up to £100,000 worth of jewellery and cash was stolen.

The terraced property in Burnaby Street was broken into sometime between Monday, January 13 and Thursday, January 16.

Stolen were £30,000 in cash and jewellery, described as Indian-style necklaces, gold earring, and bracelets, valued at between £60,000 and £70,000.

Detective Constable Richard Shanahan said:

“The jewellery is of huge sentimental value to the victim and has been passed through generations of her family. She is devastated that it has been stolen.”
