Following an efficiency review and to ensure that green bags and food liners are available to customers as and when they need them, Cardiff Council will be consolidating the number of stockists and further promoting the ring and request service, where residents can have bags and food liners delivered to their home.
Local Libraries and Leisure Centres will remain stockists, as will a number of other outlets who give out high volumes and are not in close proximity to other stockists.
Cabinet member for Environment, Cllr Ashley Govier said,
‘We are exploring every avenue to ensure we are providing an excellent value-for-money service that provides every opportunity to recycle as much as of our waste as possible. The review has ensured our primary stockists at libraries and leisure centres are still in place while dealing with the abuse of the free bag service.
‘There has been a reduction in the number of stockists as a result but the outlets selected to continue this important service are situated at convenient locations across the city for all residents. Our priority continues to be high recycling through a cost efficient service delivery.’
The ring and request or online ordering service remains available to all residents. Residents who require replacement caddy liners, bio-bags or green bags can order more by:
