Glyn Davies, Conservative MP for Montgomeryshire, is encouraging Montgomeryshire residents to nominate teams and individuals for the FA Wales Community Awards 2014.
The FA Community Awards, which are supported by McDonalds, recognise and reward those unsung heroes who make a difference to grassroots football in their local community, giving up their free time so that children can enjoy the game in safe, welcoming and developing environments.
Individuals and clubs can be nominated for the following awards:
- Grassroots impact
- Player of the Year (Girl)
- Player of the Year (Boy)
- School of the Year
- Volunteer of the Year (The People’s Award)
- Young Volunteer of the Year
- Club of the Year
- Community Coach of the Year
- Performance Development Coach of the Year
- Lifetime Achievement Award
Commenting on the 2014 Awards, Glyn Davies MP said:
“None of the coaches and volunteers that will be nominated are involved in grassroots football for recognition and awards; they do it for the love of the game and their commitment to their clubs and communities.
“It is important that their achievements are celebrated and recognised through these awards, in order to ensure that their hard work doesn’t go unnoticed.
“I would encourage anyone in Montgomeryshire to nominate individuals and clubs who they feel have made a real difference to grassroots football, in order to acknowledge their vital contribution to children’s football within their local area.”
You can nominate by visiting www.mcdonals.co.uk/awards. The deadline for nominations is 26th May 2014.
