Roger Williams, Lib Dem MP for Brecon and Radnorshire, was approached by local businesses in Tremont Road in Llandrindod Wells, because they are suffering a loss of trade and inconvenience due to the relaying of the gas mains.

This has caused the road to be dug up and traffic lights to be installed. This causes traffic delays both for local people and visitors. Hodges News Food and Wine, the Quality Fish Bar and Spa Hair and Beauty are all being affected by the works.

Commenting, Roger Williams MP said:

“Local traders are losing turnover, which they can ill-afford to do. I have been told that the job was meant to be finished by the 17th of February, but I am now told that it may not finish until the end of March. I shall be writing to National Grid and Powys County Council to see if the works can be advanced. Many complain that there are few people working on the job at any one time.

“As we move towards Easter and the very important tourist season for so many businesses, I will be pressing for an early completion.”
