Pupils at Trinity Fields School & Resource Centre in Ystrad Myncach have held their own art exhibition inspired by Welsh artists.

Throughout the term children have been looking at the work of Welsh artists including Nerys Johnson, Phil Lambert, Roger Davies, Martyn Jones and Muriel Williams. Pupils were then given the task of using a Welsh artist’s work as the basis for their own piece of art.

On Tuesday 18th February the Trinity Fields School and Resource Centre’s main hall was transformed into a pop-up art gallery for the school’s third annual art exhibition showcasing the work of pupils, staff and parents.

Leanne Boardman, Assistant Headteacher, said:

“This exhibition is great because it is promoting the work of Welsh artists and valuing the children’s work as well. Children of all abilities have been able to participate and produce a quality piece of work.”

Cllr Rhianon Passmore, Caerphilly County Borough Council’s Cabinet Member for Education & Lifelong Learning, said:

“I think this is a fantastic exhibition from our very talented pupils at Trinity Fields.”
