The prom between Splash Point and the Sun Centre will be closed from Monday, 3 March, so that work can start to repair the secondary sea defence wall, which was damaged in the December storms.
The work has been timed to ensure the prom will be reopened for Easter. If, for any reason, there is still any work still outstanding we may need to close it again but this will be after the Easter break.
Cabinet Lead Member for Environment, Councillor David Smith, said: “Since the storms hit in December, as well as directly assisting people who have been displaced from their homes we have also been working to assess the damage to the sea wall and put in place measures to carry out the repair work. I am pleased to see work is now due to begin.”
