Leading Economist to Address Business Leaders Shortly after the 2014 Budget is Revealed

HelenWatsonBusiness leaders in North Wales are invited to hear a leading business economist provide his insights into the implications of the upcoming Budget announcement.

Dr Dominic Swords, a regular contributor to the BBC’s News 24 and World Business Report, will address guests just hours after Chancellor George Osborne unveils his Budget for 2014.

The free event, hosted by the Institute of Directors (IoD) North Wales branch in partnership with the Association of Certified Chartered Accountants (ACCA) Cymru Wales, is taking place at OpTic, Glyndwr University, St Asaph.

Attendees will also have chance to network at the event on Wednesday 19 March, which is the same day as the Chancellor’s statement.

IoD North Wales chair, Helen Watson (pictured), said: “It’s brilliant to have secured Dominic to speak about the impact the Budget will have on businesses in North Wales.  His wealth of knowledge and experience will be a benefit to all who attends.

Dominic often provides insight and analysis for broadcast programmes including, CNBC’s Strictly Money and the BBC’s Financial World Tonight. He has previously worked in economic intelligence at the Bank of England.

A published author, he also works in London Business School and Henley Business School.

The IoD is the longest-standing organisation to serve and support business leaders, with more than 100 years of service in raising professional standards. You don’t need to be a company director to join the IoD. Senior managers are welcome from large public organisations to small family firms.
