Brochure chance for summer event gurus

Winter’s grip may still be tight but summer event organisers are already being asked to forward plan.

Swansea Council’s marketing department has now started work on the campaign for this year’s Swansea Bay Summer Festival and the team is urging event organisers to get in touch for free inclusion in the annual summer guide publication.

The festival runs from May to September and hundreds of events are usually included in the summer guide.

Over 100,000 copies of the 40-page guide will be published and distributed across south Wales.

Opportunities are also being made available to advertise in the guide.

Sian Davies, Swansea Council’s Swansea Bay Summer Festival Co-ordinator, said: “The Festival is now in its eleventh year and the guide is a great help to visitors who want to know what’s taking place in the Swansea area.

“Inclusion of events in the guide is free and we’d ask anyone interested to get in touch soon to make sure their information is published. Events of all size and types are welcome.”

The Swansea Bay Summer Festival is run by Swansea Council and was launched by Charlotte Church in 2000.

The festival is made up of 500 events. Some of those to have taken place over the years include BBC Proms in the Park, The Admiral Swansea Bay 10K and The Wales National Airshow.

Anyone who’d like to either include their event in the guide or advertise in it is asked to contact Sian Davies on [email protected] or 01792 635433.

People can also visit www.myswansea.info to sign up to receive regular updates about the festival.
