Commenting on a high court ruling that the decision of National Savings and Investments to scrap its Welsh language scheme and end its Welsh-medium services was unlawful, Suzy Davies AM, Shadow Minister for the Welsh Language, said:
“We welcome clarity on the delivery of Welsh-medium services in the public sector and hope this will encourage other organisations to consider their Welsh language duties very carefully.
“We are moving into an era where people will have clearly identifiable rights regarding the use of Welsh, which is one of our two national languages.
“The days when any public sector body operating in Wales looks at Welsh language services as an area for easy budget cuts are over.”
