Second Anniversary of the Disapppearance of Trevor Elias, Abertridwr

Trevor Elias 2On the second anniversary of the reported disappearance of 77 year old Trevor Elias  from Abertridwr, Gwent Police is re-appealing for  anyone with information to get in touch.

As part of their enquiries, officers are specifically appealing for anyone with information about Trevor’s last known whereabouts to come forward to see if they can offer any further information and are re-releasing CCTV of the last confirmed sighting of Trevor. Fresh leaflet drops to local residents are also taking place in an effort to appeal for information.

Officers are aware that on Thursday April 5th, 2012, Trevor was seen outside the Leigh Club between 11.15pm and 12.15am and before that had been at The Buffs Club on Abertridwr Square

Trevor was seen on CCTV at 12.23am on Friday April 6th walking passed the Cenotaph in Senghenydd and heading down Commercial Street in the direction of Abertridwr. It is also known that two women were seen walking ahead of Trevor on Commercial Street toward Senghenydd Square at approximately 12.20am and these still haven’t been identified. It is also believed that three vehicles and a man would also have passed Trevor as they came up Commercial Street heading toward Abertridwr.

Trevor was reported missing on Saturday April 7th. He is described as being approximately six feet tall, of very thin build, and has brown short hair. He wears glasses.

Detective Superintendent Ian Roberts is overseeing the investigation:

“Two years on and we are still no closer in establishing what happened to Trevor since he was last seen. A number of reviews have been carried out since he went missing and we are doing all we can to find out what happened to him.

“We are appealing to members of the community to look closely at the CCTV as I’m sure there will be someone who recognises the images of the people and vehicles. We believe that three vehicles passed him on the road and that other people – two women walking ahead of him and one man who was walking in the opposite direction speaking on a mobile phone – may have seen him.

“We are of course liaising with Trevor’s family who need to know what happened to him”

If anyone has any information about his whereabouts that night or since they are asked to call Gwent Police on 101
