Brothers Caught by Undercover Officers are Jailed for Drug Crimes

South Wales PoliceTwo brothers have been sentenced to a total of 13 years in prison after officers found crack cocaine hidden under a map at their Cardiff flat.

Colin Richards (pictured left) and Jason Law (pictured right) were arrested by plain-clothed officers on duty in the Riverside area of the city.
During the evening of October 23, officers witnessed Richards, 38, involved in an apparent drugs deal.

When they took him back to his flat in Ninian Park Road they found his younger brother with deals of cannabis, scales and cash.

A more thorough search led to the discovery of 29 deals of crack cocaine hidden under a makeshift welcome mat at the bottom of the stairs and £1,388 in a Gucci man bag.

Law, 32, who pleaded guilty to possession with intent to supply crack cocaine and cannabis was sentenced to six years at Cardiff Crown Court on Friday, May 16.

Richards received a seven year prison sentence on the same day having been found guilty of the same charges following a six-day trial.

Detective Constable Sean Hardy, from Cardiff’s proactive CID, said: “Richards and Law are career drug dealers from London who based themselves in Cardiff to supply class-A drugs.

“Their sentences should be a deterrent to anyone thinking of getting involved in the supply of these harmful drugs particularly those foolish enough to travel to South Wales to establish their drugs business.”

Anyone wishing to give information regarding the supply of drugs is asked to contact South Wales Police 101 or Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
