Ever wondered how an historic winding engine is maintained or how to start researching your family tree? Fancy learning some new skills for free and having fun doing so? Visit the county borough museum, the Winding House in New Tredegar, for Adult Learners’ Week, 17th – 21st June for a packed week of activities for the Caerphilly Learning Festival.
Join the museum’s engine volunteer team on Tuesday 17th June for a morning of restoration and maintenance of the original Victorian winding engine (booking essential), or why not drop-in on Thursday 19th June to find out how to make a patchwork quilt and learn some sewing and stitching skills? Find your past on Friday 20th June and discover how you can research your own family’s First World War experiences. Round things off on Saturday 21st June by joining them for a day of creative family workshops with illustrator Emma Brown from 11am-1.30pm and 2.30-4pm (booking essential).
