On Tuesday 1st July Screening for Life Wales and Troedio Clwyd Walks will be putting their best foot forward to help promote the screening for life campaign with a short 30 minute walk from County hall in Mold starting at 12.30 pm from the main reception.
The aim is to raise awareness of screening programmes across Wales with the promotion of Bowel Cancer, Breast Cancer, Cervical Cancer Screening and Abdominal Aortic Aneurysm and why walking is a really good way to keep yourself healthy.
Fatima Sayed, Screening Engagement Practitioner Public Health Wales said ‘The screening for life programme is aimed at raising awareness and encouraging Men and Women across Wales to take up free testing. There are a great number of free events and activities each week across July.
To find out more about screening for life and how you can get involved log on to the Screening for Life Facebook page or contact your local screening officer on 01492860888.
Katrina Day, Troedio Clwyd Coordinator said:
‘Walking is one of the best ways to improve your health, its free and just makes you feel generally good about yourself. Regular walking will keep people active, reducing the risk of many diseases, therefore saving the NHS money by keeping people out of hospital. We are really grateful for all of the work of the volunteers who lead these walks, which make such a difference to many people’s lives.’
